♢Tradition of 400 years: Takeo Ware

The begin of ‘’Takeo Ware’’ was that potters who went with lord of Takeo created in the Bunroku-Keitho War.
At present, there are about 90 potteries in the city, and individuality, imaginative, and original products has come from each pottery making use of traditional methods.
There are two types. One is pottery that is a brown-tanned, the other is porcelain that is white and bright. Takeo Ware is classified in each type.
Takeo Ware fascinates our hearts.

♢Oyamaji kiln

Oyamaji kiln that is Takeokokaratsu southland style was founded for exclusive of Takeda domain in the end of Momoyama period.
They are painted used ‘’Washizome’’, and their features are light-and -shade and impression of mild. The pottery is infrequent because people can create potteries and porcelain.
Today, they use gas kiln, fuel kiln, climbing kiln, and hole-type kiln for each product.
